After exploring Sindhudurg Fort in Malvan the previous day, we decided to visit a few more places. The most exciting among them was Rock Garden! So, around 10 in the morning, we checked out of the hotel and set off.
Jai Ganesh Temple, Medha
After admiring the vast sea and the distant view of Sindhudurg Fort, we visited the Jai Ganesh Temple in Medha, located a short distance away. This temple, home to a golden idol of Lord Ganesha, is exceptionally clean and beautiful. The serene and sacred atmosphere inside brings a sense of peace. The temple was built by Jyotirbhaskar Jayant Salgaonkar. After seeking Lord Ganesha’s blessings, we left with a joyful heart and headed towards Rock Garden.
Rock Garden, Malvan
Nestled along the seashore, Rock Garden is a stunning masterpiece sculpted by nature. The unique rock formations spread across the coastline resemble a naturally woven stone carpet. Tiny crabs scurried through the crevices of these rocks, while small fish darted around in the crystal-clear water that had seeped into the gaps between the stones. Near the water’s edge, various birds like egrets and herons perched gracefully on the rocks—sometimes alone, sometimes in flocks. Adjacent to the garden, a beautifully maintained park with lush greenery adds to the charm. Rock Garden in Malvan is a perfect spot for families to unwind and enjoy a peaceful picnic, offering a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Before returning to Goa after exploring Malvan, we decided to visit Kudal. By the time we left Malvan, it was already afternoon. We had covered around 12 kilometers when we came across a village named Bharadi along the way.
Bharadi Devi Temple
Bharadi Devi of Konkan is renowned as a deity who grants wishes, making her temple a significant pilgrimage site, often referred to as the “Pandharpur of Konkan.” Since we were passing by, we decided to visit the temple and seek the goddess’s blessings before continuing our journey.
The temple is located in Anganewadi, a village named after the Angane family, who are the dominant residents there. Situated on a slightly elevated area, the surroundings of the temple appeared somewhat desolate. The temple itself looked newly built, and upon inquiry, we learned that it had been renovated just a few years ago. Constructed in the Nagara architectural style, this two-story temple stands out as an eye-catching structure.
Despite being midday on a regular day, the temple was crowded with devotees, a testament to their deep faith in the goddess. Every year, a grand fair is held in her honor, usually in February.
With this visit, our journey came to a fulfilling end. On the first day, we explored the Sindhudurg Fort, and on the second, we visited the Jai Ganesh Temple, Rock Garden, and finally, the Bharadi Devi Temple. As we left, Malvan seemed to bid us farewell with a silent promise—”Come back soon!”
